Alva’s Homoeopathic Medical College, Moodbidri was one more feather in cap of Alva’s Education Foundation under Health Science Education towards Holistic Medicine under AYUSH. A fusion of dream & vision of Chairman Dr. M. Mohan Alva. Seed of Alva’s Homoeopathic Medical College was sowed during Middle of 2004 and Study Course of B.H.M.S. started with First Batch of students during 2005. College started with strength of four students now reached to 372 students. We have 118 Alumni’s as on today and we feel proud to say our Alumni’s are successfully involved in Homoeopathic Practice at various levels from Private practice, Post graduate study, Medical Officer at Government and and private sector & as a research scholars. Our institute is being chosen by many of the Homoeopathic Doctors from various part of the country to provide Homoeopathic Education to their Children and we are grateful to them. All well-wishers encouragement and faith boosted our confidence to make progress day by day. Backbone our Institute is strong support of our Chairman Dr. M. Mohan Alva at every moment and contribution of dedicated teaching faculty and efforts of our students. 2014 will be Decennial Year of our Institute.
The Founder and his aspirations
Alva’s Education Foundation (R) was conceived and founded by a visionary chairman Dr. M. Mohan Alva , an Ayurveda Physician by profession and Philanthropist by heart. Alva’s education foundation is a living dream of Dr. M. Mohan Alva to impart quality education.
Dr. Alvas dynamism, foresight, simplicity, goodwill, righteousness and conviction that education lies at the root of all social progress are the guiding forces behind establishing the foundation which came into being in 1995 with a few institutions affiliates to Rajiv Gandhi Health University, Bangalore.
Today he has a vast array of institutions in various disciplines where social transformation is becoming a reality which India was waiting for long. Alva’s Education Foundation (R) name is synonymous with discipline, punctuality, humility and fulfillment.

Udupi is a divine shrine in the coastal region of Western Ghats, situated about 60km from Moodbidri.The famous temple here has a fascinating idol of Lord Krishna adorned with jwels. The reasons for its fame is that the statue of Lord Krishna has been installed by the great saint Sri Madhvacharya . and another attraction of this temple is the “Kanakana Kindi”a small window through which Krishna is believed to have given darshan to his ardent devotee kanakadas .

Located at Mangalore ,35 km from Moodbidri.The ancient temple Mangaladevi temple is in Bolar,3 km from Mangalore city bus stand. Goddess Mangaladevi which was re-built by the erstwhile ruler of Mangalore in 968AD.Thereafter the place came to known as Mangalapura.

56 km from Moodbidri Western Ghats on the bank of Netravati river. Thousands of devotees visit this temple town every day to offer prayer to Lord Manjunatha Swamy.

Panambur Beach New Mangalore Port, 40km from Moodbidri,12km from Mangalore on NH 17.This all weather deep sea port is the ninth major port of our country. Opened on 11th Jan 1975
20KM from Moodbidri stituated 350 acres land along with tropical jungle on the bank of Gurupur river. It is a very significant place with botanical gardens. Horticultural gardens, Mansa Amusement Park, Zoo, Swimming lake with boating facilities ,tiger safari and children train ,it has dears of different kinds, wild boars, tigers, leopard, Lion and Snakes both poisonous and non poisonous, few birds.

Teaching facilities :
Method of teaching is beyond blackboard by use of Audio-visual aids- such as LCD projectors, Slide projectors, DVD, TV, Over Head Projectors etc. Ultimately is to make it more effective, informative and for better understanding
Guest Lectures :
In Medical Science Clinical knowledge is more of important hence Guest Lectures, Seminars, Workshops are being conducted by inviting skilled resource persons from outsource.
Study monitoring :
Monthly test examinations are being conducted for every subject regularly and monitored over students progress. In each semester examination is being conducted for all the subjects and marks are obtained in the test examination and semester examination together are being calculated for eligibility to appear for University examination.
By rotation Class Room Seminar are conducted among students for every subject and every class to improve their skill of presentation and explore their hidden characters.
Tours are conducted as part of Curriculum for students associated by Staff to Witness Homoeopathic Manufacturing Pharmaceutical Companies, Homoeopathic Health & Research institutes. Also attending National, International Seminars, Conferences
Students are being further trained by allocating Projects of academic nature guided by the staff which is helping the students for over all improvement
Practical Training :
Practical Training is provided at the student level as per Curriculum at laboratories which as are 100% equipped as per Regulations framed by the University and apex body. Additional training is provided during their Internship period. Student witness Post Mortem at District Hospital and Community Health Centre officially.
Clinical Training :
Clinical Training is provided at various levels, on models to get acquainted with the procedures; at Out Patient Departments set by 27 Clinics, In patient Department : set in to three section own Homoeopathic Hospital, Multispecialty Hospital and Community Health Centre having modern equipments and all the facilities for investigations. Students are being posted and guided by the Medical Personale.
Regular monitoring is made on teaching skills, methodology of teachins. Each teacher adopts Teaching Planner as per calendar and microteaching teaching plan. Once in a month monitoring is done interdepartmentally and by the head of institute.
Curricular and extracurricular Activities :
As per calendar Curricular and extracurricular Activities are being conducted throughout year in planned manner. Facilities are provided to the students who have keen interest in Sports, Cultural and Art activities. Students have show achievement at University level competitions.
Social & Health Activities :
Regularly Health awareness, Medical camps are organised with the help of NSS, Clinical and Community departments. NSS Units is carrying yeomen service in the field of Environment and Health Care sector.

Staff Committee consists of Principal, Staff Coordinator, Four Class Coordinators, Student Welfare Officer and NSS officer. Apart from this Staff Committee there are Twelve Department heads who also actively participate in College activities at every
